Sarah Swanson
Licensed Midwife

  • I am a Licensed Midwife (LM) with the Medical Board of California and a Certified Professional Midwife (CPM). I’m also the proud mom of three incredible (now adult) children who are my greatest joy.

My journey into birth work began in 2004 as a full-spectrum doula. Over time, my passion for providing comprehensive, inclusive, evidence-informed, and trauma-sensitive care led me to pursue midwifery. I graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Midwifery from the Midwives College of Utah and am an active member of the California Association of Licensed Midwives. I am currently pursuing a Master’s in Midwifery to deepen my knowledge and expand access to holistic, individualized perinatal care.

I love supporting families with infant feeding, exploring herbal approaches to healing, and sharing parenting methods that honor the newborn and nurture secure attachment. While my formal scope as a Licensed Midwife centers on “low-risk and normal,” I’m thrilled to collaborate with Dr. Adrouny and the team at Adrouny Women’s Health and The Village—bringing the midwifery model of care to both low- and high-risk families who walk through our doors.

Early Childhood Specialist

  • With nearly a decade of preschool teaching experience, a BA in Elementary Education, and years of caregiving, Kim’s life passion is to nurture young children and support families. She draws daily inspiration from parenting her own little one, blending professional expertise with lived experience.

Grounded in the Reggio Emilia philosophy and enriched by continuing education with early childhood leaders like Bev Bos and Lisa Murphy, the “Ooey-Gooey Lady,” Kim’s approach is calm, flexible, and developmentally appropriate. She meets children where they’re at, creating inviting spaces and playful opportunities that naturally foster social-emotional growth, motor skills, comprehension, and confidence.

The families Kim has worked with often remark on her gentle presence and ability to truly see each child. She believes early learning is not about school readiness, but about encouraging a lifelong love for learning and honoring exactly where each child is in this moment as the ultimate way to prepare for the next step. Her goal is that every family leaves circle time not only with happy, engaged kids, but with a deeper sense of connection and support for the parenting journey.

  • Kim leads Preschool Play to Learn, a weekly caregiver-and-child class designed for 2- and 3-year-olds. Rooted in play-based, developmentally appropriate activities, the class helps children build fine motor skills, large motor skills, independence, and social-emotional growth. Each session balances open-ended play with circle time, songs, movement, and stories, creating a rhythm that supports both confidence and comprehension. Caregivers also gain valuable education and community, with opportunities to ask questions and connect with others. Through this program, Kim provides a nurturing space where little ones can explore, learn, and thrive alongside their families.
